Risk disclosure

Last updated: 2026-05-23

Trading cryptocurrency derivatives carries substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. You can lose your entire deposit, and in some cases more, in a very short period. Past performance — including any backtest results shown on the SpikeWatch website or in the application — does not guarantee future results.

SpikeWatch is a desktop trading tool. It does not provide investment advice, does not custody your funds, and does not place orders on its own. When you enable live automation, the application sends orders to an exchange you have authorised with your own API keys. You are solely responsible for the trades it places.

Backtests in SpikeWatch are honest historical simulations of the strategy code on past kline data. They do not model slippage, exchange downtime, funding-rate changes, partial fills, queue position, or the impact of your own orders on thin order books. A backtest that performs well will not necessarily perform the same way in live trading.

Before enabling live automation, you should:

SpikeWatch makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of market data fetched from third-party exchange APIs, the correctness of strategy implementations, or the suitability of any strategy for any particular trading goal. You agree that you use the application at your own risk.
