Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the SpikeWatch desktop application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By installing or using the Service you agree to be bound by them.

1. What SpikeWatch is

SpikeWatch is a desktop tool for monitoring crypto markets, backtesting trading strategies on historical kline data, and (with a paid subscription) automating trades on exchanges where you hold your own account.

2. What SpikeWatch is not

SpikeWatch is not a broker, a custodian, or a registered investment advisor. We do not hold your funds, we do not advise you on what to trade, and we do not place orders on your behalf except as a passthrough for the strategy you configured.

3. Your account & API keys

You are responsible for keeping your exchange API keys secure. We recommend creating a dedicated key with read + trade scopes only — never enable withdrawal permission for keys used with any trading automation. You agree not to share your subscription or license key with others.

4. Subscriptions & billing

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to: market-manipulate, wash-trade, layer or spoof; violate the terms of any exchange you connect to; circumvent rate limits; reverse-engineer or redistribute the application except where explicitly permitted by an open-source licence; or otherwise break the law in your jurisdiction.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that backtest results will replicate in live trading.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect damages of any kind.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and (for paying subscribers) emailed at least 30 days before they take effect.
